The LAYA Academy of Kathak in Tbilisi, Georgia is a collaborative learning space which aims to bring together dancers of all levels and ages who are passionate about Indian classical dance and culture. Regular classes are led by Mihikaa Srinivas – a Kathak dancer trained under esteemed gurus Smt.Chethana Hari and Shri. Hard of Noopur Performing Arts Centre. With years of training in the Lucknow Ghana tradition, and teaching experience under her gurus, she is passionate about sharing the beauty of Kathak and nurturing the next generation of dancers. Her performances across India and Georgia reflect her dedication to Indian classical arts and cultural exchange.

We offer classes from absolute beginners to more intermediate dancers.
A single drop-in class costs a fee of 20 GEL which is paid on the day of the class through bank transfer or cash. Should you decide to continue with our course, you can choose to attend either 2 times, or 3 times per week. Monthly payment: 8 classes (two times a week) – 160 GEL or 12 classes (three times a week) – 200 GEL (instead of 240 GEL)
Our group classes run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays each week, from 19:00 to 21:00 (2 hours). You can choose to attend all three as part of our progressive course, or drop-in on any of these days you'd like.
Anything which you are comfortable dancing in and allows you to move. We do dance barefoot as part of the tradition! You are welcome to bring your own ghungroos if you have any.
